Immediately following the Ashton Gap performance, will be the fiddle contest at 6:00pm. All ages are welcome to enter with three separate age divisions, which include children through adult. The purse for the contest totals over $800.00, and the entry fee is free with the purchase of a fair ticket. The contest is considered to be traditional fiddle music as opposed to classical, jazz, pop or rock. Traditional styles include Irish, French, Cajun, other National/Ethnic styles, Country, and Bluegrass.

Registration forms and rules may be viewed and downloaded at the Sandwich Fair website at www.sandwichfair.com/fiddle_contest.htm.  Pre-registration is encouraged to ensure participation due to a limited number in each division and can be made by calling 815.786.9313 or on a first come basis until 5:30pm on the day of the contest if openings are still available.

Whether you are a seasoned fiddler, a novice, or an appreciative audience member, this is a great opportunity to participate or enjoy some very impressive fiddling in the shady, country atmosphere of the 122nd Sandwich Fair.
