Guitars and banjos and mandolins, oh my! Hailing from
the heart of the heartland, Slick Adams is an American band. Their
unique, laid back energy is Midwest American through and through. From
the sweet strut of “Dancin’ in the Rain” to the hoe down swing of “Honky
Tonkin”, Slick Adams debut release “Dues Paid” is like a sentimental
ride through the small towns and wide open spaces of Middle American
values. Lead Singer Troy’s voice ranges from farm boy
innocence to world wise country soul. Backed by first class
multi-instrumentalists Chris, Len, Dan and JD along with the absolutely
smoking rhythm section of drummer John and bassist Al, Slick Adams can
make you sing and dance of laugh and cry. :Dues Paid: boasts not only
some great, all original songs, but also some dynamite playing along
with a wide selection of musical ideas. Sweet harmonies glide over a mix
of acoustic and electric guitars, banjos, mandolins and harmonica. As
good as “Dues Paid” is, there is nothing like seeing this band live.
Chemistry may be an overused term for bands like this, but these seven
musicians no doubt have it in droves. In the Grand
tradition of the Eagles, Creedence, John Mellencamp, Alabama and many
others, Slick Adams is an American Band aimed straight at the heart of
the Heartland.
